A note from the founder
I started WineGate because the trade I know still sells good stock through phone calls, forwarded spreadsheets and price lists that are out of date the day they are sent. A buyer who needs a particular wine cannot see who holds it, and a seller cannot reach the buyers who would take it.
We are building the place where the two meet: a market where a company lists its stock in minutes, sends one link instead of a spreadsheet and knows who is on the other side. We do not want to stand between you and your buyer. We want to introduce you, and then get out of the way.

Who it is for
Four kinds of company, one market.
Producers and trade companies — importers, distributors and wholesalers — buy and sell. Wine merchants, and restaurants and hotels, buy. Every new company starts on the demo market straight after it signs up, and trades on the live market once our team has reviewed it.
How we work
Four rules we keep

Real companies only
Every company is reviewed before it trades, and its name is on every lot it lists.

No invented numbers
We show no counts, volumes or client logos we cannot back up. Where there is nothing yet, the page says so.

We stay out of the money
Buyers pay sellers directly. We earn 1 % of each paid order, paid by the seller.

The trade’s own words
Lot, order, offer, quote, request, in bond, duty paid. No jargon of our own.
